Ubuntulite was inactive for a few months but is now back on track. It has been restructured and uses the openbox window manager. It still runs well on a 75 mhz pentium with just 32 mb of ram. Version 0.6 (feisty) is in need of testers.

Check out the new website [http://ubuntulite.tuxfamily.org/] or get see the developers discussion group [http://groups.google.com/group/ubuntulite/] for details.

Yeah, I like that hardware reqs too. :)

As for helping Grandmothers and such? Well, I know of at least one Grandmother who has a P2 running windows 98 and is a support nightmare. She's going to move to Linux (read: Ubuntu) soon and a nice, light version that will run on that hardware and allow her to check email/browse the web while I can ssh in and fix problems seems ideal.
