Why boot when you can check mail and surf the web through your BIOS?

Wired has a great article about HyperSpace – a preboot environment created by the folks at Phoenix.  Phoenix is best known for their BIOS work but HyperSpace looks to be pretty neat.  As soon as your computer is fully powered on you have access to the general tools you use every day.  Email, web browsing, and media playing. All by just pushing the F4 key – which means a much faster push-to-play time and much lower battery usage.

Kudos Phoenix, it’s about time.
