HOLY CRAP, that is one lucky dude. I’ve put (literally) thousands of .50 cal rounds downrange, and never seen one come back like that. It must have been shrapnel kicked back by the impact. It was moving pretty slow (go figure, or his head would have exploded like a cantaloupe). The ricochet just in front of him is pretty awesome, too.

Craig, I think they were. Either the bullet itself came on back, or some fragments from the plate - that’s my guess.
Either way, let that be a lesson to all who want to shoot .50 rifles.
