The Register is reporting that the Knights Templar, in one of their modern forms, The Association of the Sovereign Order of the Temple of Christ (TASOTC) is using the Spanish legal system to demand, in light of new documents, that the vatican take back all that nasty stuff they said about them. Oh, and return their assets, currently worth about $100,000,000,000 dollars. Give or take – and that’s European dollars, which is even more!
From the article:
The Association of the Sovereign Order of the Temple of Christ has launched a court case in Spain, demanding Pope Benedict “recognise” the seizure of assets worth €100bn. The Spanish-based group of Templars apparently says in a statement: “We are not trying to cause the economic collapse of the Roman Catholic Church, but to illustrate to the court the magnitude of the plot against our Order.” This might come as a surprise to those who believe that the order of warrior monks – also credited with possessing the Holy Grail and laying the foundation of the European banking system – was smashed in 1307 by Pope Clement V and Philip IV of France.
Now that’s a lot of money, and a lot of history to overcome. No mention has been made about Mary, Jesus’ kids or any other conspiracy type things but you can be sure that both parties have documents they don’t want to show the public. Probably in the form of financial statements.

I really thought that all this stuff existed in movies…It will be interesting what the whole situation will result to. If it is not covered up right away…

The quoted text says “100bn”. If I recall correctly, in some places a “billion” is a million million, and not a thousand million as it is here in the US. I have no idea whether any place still does that, and if so, whether Spain is one of those places. Just something to consider.

Chris,
Thanks for the tidbit – I didn’t know that. Either way, it’s a god-awful lot of cash.

I’m pretty sure that the Knights Templar were smashed in 1307 by Pope Clement V and Philip IV of France.
But I guess $100 billion is probably worth making a comeback for.

Yes you some what correct the Templer were run off the face of the earth being stolen from cheated out of money they were owed by the heavly debted Philip IV of France so he would not have to pay his debt he used Pope Clement V to go after them when his own attempts were smashed
It is said templers went under ground in such orginisations as Masionic Lodge and those scattering to the winds waiting waiting for the right time to emerge. These are men who were true warriors they lived a humble spiritual life many believe at some point they were blessed by God him self

I think this so called Templar who are trying to get the money of the pope are jokers. the Templar are warrior monks not married guys then from where this so called phantom knight Templar came from. so keep off the pope . \it comes from we benedictine oblate who can claim to be true knight Templar of this generation for we follow the rules even till today and the founder of the knight Templar is St Benedict of clarivaux a benedictine Monk. so only Roman catholic or orthodox catholic can claim the Birth wrights as Templar .
