Proving once again that money doesn’t necessarily always flow towards the smartest individuals, someone has released the “I am Rich” app to the Apple App Store. This $999 app does nothing but display an image of a ruby on your iPhone or iPod touch. Why? So you can show everyone how much of a rich bastard you are, being able to afford to drop a grand on a picture of a ruby.
I’ve got a better deal. Give me $1999.00 and I will personally put up a post about just how damned rich you are. I’ll have a picture of a diamond AND a mold of a Sasquatch track taken in the field. In bold letters, the post will proudly proclaim “(your name here) Is richer than those folks who could only afford to drop a grand on an iPhone app!”
Personally, I’ve always had a much better plan. When I hit the Mega-Super-Millions-O-Bucks, I plan on purchasing a full minute ad during the Superbowl where I can say “I just wanted to say that I’m a rich bastard. Rich enough to afford a minute of Superbowl advertising. Now stare at this picture of a lemur for the next 47 seconds.”
UPDATE: From Gizmodo - the second image is plea in the reviews from some moron who actually clicked “Buy”. When will people learn?

Sounds like high time to write an app to display a cubic zirconium for just 50c.
