China’s CCTV building’s new skin is on.  Here are my shots of it from a few months ago.

China suddenly has no shortage of oddly designed (and sometimes beautiful) buildings.  The new CCTV headquarters is one of them.  The image on the left (thanks to OMA) shows the building with it’s facade complete.  While they’re not done inside, the building sure looks pretty.

I was in Beijing a few months ago and got to snap a few pics of the building as they were still putting the windows in.  My friend Chen, who lives in Beijing told me that they refer to this building as “the Giant Pants”, which got a chuckle out of me.  It really is quite big though, when driving below it.
