Ah Woden, with your missing eye and your ravens Thought and Memory - you would be proud of this, your day. Create new life with Spore Creature Creator, listen to music that is both free and DRM free, get a good entry level PhysX enabled card from Nvidia to kill mortals in COD4, and go green with Amazon.
Lets start with the freebies. Amazon has over 1000 free non-drmed tunes for your listening pleasure. Granted I haven’t heard of many of the artists. Then, I’ve never heard of Wilson Tree Management before but that doesn’t stop me from wearing the free T-shirt I got.
They also have the Spore Creature Creator for a measly $5.99! Which is great because you know you’re going to spend $60 on the game when it first comes out, so this eases the sting of early adoption. With the Spore CC you can create your own creatures, share them with other creature creators and generally wish that the whole damned game were released already. Bump your order up another $19.01 an d you can enjoy free shipping as well. It’s good for both PC and Mac.
If you’re a latecomer to the World of Warcraft you can also pick up the Battle Chest for $29.99, which is 25% off regular amazon price. Since it’s over $25, you’ll get your free shipping on that as well. It’s got World of Warcraft plus the Burning Crusade expansion. I don’t know about you but Burning Crusade has always sounded vaguely dirty to me.
New Egg is selling XFX’s GeForce 9600 GT 512MB GPU for $119.99, which is a good price for an entry level PhysX enabled card. Add a $20 rebate and it’s $99.99 for the thing. You will have to pay $8.97 for three day shipping though. All in all it’s a good card if you’re looking to update to a more modern chipset with PhysX and CUDA.
Finally, Amazon has a selection of “Green” stuff for you purchase, thus fulfilling your need for material fulfillment and saving the planet at the same time! Certainly better than what most politicians working today can boast.
