Here’s a very neat video, produced by this fellow who spent 17 years taking a photograph of himself every day and rotating to be in sync with the Earth’s rotation around the sun.
I can’t imagine doing any one thing daily for 17 years short of bodily functions.

(Also posted on Reddit:) I worked with this guy back during the dot-bomb era (ca. 1999-2001) at a place called Protozoa / DotComix (hi, Dan!). He is definitely the uber-geeky-burning-man type, but he was also a brilliant mechanical engineer who developed hardware and software for motion-capture 3D web animations. He had told me about this project way back then (almost 10 years ago — year 7?) and I always wondered what the final product would look like. He would come into work with half-shaved mustache and/or beard and/or hair (look closely frame-by-frame) that progressively turned to shaved over the course of a week or two. Good thing other reddit’ers dig this stuff too. Not sure about the whole “room v. camera placement” argument in these comments. If you look closely, though, you can see him turning his neck, which makes me believe he just turned his head 4 degrees each day.

Speaking as someone who has facial hair, it must be very odd to wander around with half a mustache or 2/3 of a 90210 circa side burn.
