CES 2009: This Ain’t Your Grandpa’s Swiss Army Knife

Straight out of a science fiction book comes the new Presentation Pro Swiss Army Knife. OK maybe not out of a science fiction book, but who would have thought there would ever be a swiss army knife with a laser pin and USB built in? Maybe its just me.

The new Presentation Pro Swiss Army Knife from Victorinox (the original Swiss Army Knife company) comes with everything a normal Swiss Army Knife has: a blade, nail file with screwdriver, scissors, and a retractable pin. The special Presentation pro version also comes with a removable USB drive that ranges from 8GB to 32 gb which of course effects the price, a laser pointer, secure data encryption technology, ECC and BCE error correction and AES and DES encryption capabilities.

The price range goes from $169.95 for 8 GB of storage and goes up to $329.95 for 32 GB of storage. They should be available in May so get yours soon! Watch this exclusive video all about the Victorinox Swiss Army Knife Presentation Pro:

But you still cannot take it on a plane. So forget about putting your work on it, and then trying to travel :)

  2. arsgeek Says:

Hey that is a good point… well at least the USB is detachable I guess. But then why not just get a flash drive?

  3. Kenneth Lee Says:

Cool innovation. But I guess it can be a little heavy for the USB port to support?

  4. arsgeek Says:

It shouldn’t be I believe the USB drive is detachable

That’s actually pretty cool. Build in an MP3 player and a cell phone and you are good to go. MacGyver wouldn’t know what to do with it ;)

i’m a big fan of Victorinox knives, and i own several of them. I remember when i purchased my first one, i was a kid and i was surprised to see a little pen inside a hole in the body of the knife. Now we have a usb key and a laser pointer: times are really changed!

  7. A_Muse Says:

    Is the USB drive detachable?

  8. Nick Says:

Something low tech as a pocket knife containing a usb jump drive. times have really changed. im pretty sure the usb drive is not detachable.
