Corporate iPhone use has an unexpected side effect: happier employees. At least, that’s the conclusions drawn by a new report from Forrester Research, as reported by The Apple Blog.
Corporate users have been enjoying the iPhone as a communication device, allowing them to stay in touch with their company’s home base both via E-mail and voice. But employers are liking the device as well, since IT costs have been significantly lower than expected. The 12-page report examines three large companies with significant iPhone use ” Kraft Foods, Oracle, and Amylin Pharmaceuticals. According to Tim Shadler, the reports author, the iPhone helped create a happier, more productive workforce.
There’s nothing in particular about the iPhone’s hardware or software features that helped create this surge in employee satisfaction. Rather, employees’ happiness came from the ability to use the tool they chose. After all, the iPhone is one of the most lusted-after phones on the market right now.
The report does note some downsides: ActiveSync and calendar support on the iPhone are still not up to snuff when compared with the competition, and the device can’t top BlackBerry Enterprise Server when it comes to reliability. Still, with new features like expanded push notifications and copy and paste expected this summer, corporate iPhone use is sure to continue to expand.

Great!
A little more justification for the expense of my iPhone
It is easy to be more productive with an iPhone, you can get work done when stuck in traffic or waiting rooms, airports etc.

Our company still won’t support the iphone because of ‘security issues’. IE- If the phone is lost they can’t wipe the phone remotely. However I just found out 3 of our executives have iphones! Strange since they are likely to have the most sensitive information on their phones. Is it this security issue true?

People are crazy about iPhone and if you will provide them such kind of luxury than they will deliver more on your work.
Old trick of human resource.

The fact that you can get just about any app for the iPhone ensures there’s something for everyone in the App Store. Productivity apps can help you stay organised and there’s more and more apps coming with collaboration features built in helping you work as a team even when you’re away from the office.
