Zombie Playground – the fantastic work of Jason Chan

I love, LOVE this work of art by Jason Chan. (link to full sized image on his site) Oddly, I found it in a link on his website called The Junk Drawer.   I recently stumbled on Jason's website be freak internet search accident and I'm glad I did.  He's done a number of comics, illustrations for a few games and many independent works and his work is wonderful.

Do you prefer the original Star Wars trilogy or the Special Edition? Use this video as a guide.

I remember when Star Wars first hit the silver screen.  Actually, it's one of my earliest film memories.  I also went to see the Special Edition digitally retouched, Han shoots last editions in the theater.  Each has something to give, I think.  The original trilogy is forever cemented in my brain as THE movies of my youth.  The special edition looks shinier.

MC Frontalot just earned six billion nerd points for rapping about Zork

I generally don't think all that much about Zork or other text adventure games on a regular basis unless something comes along to remind me about them.  This usually happens about once a year.  This time, my reminder comes via MC Frontalot - a nerdcore rapper who's compiled a wonderful tome of text adventure lingo into "It's Pitch Dark".  Words that brought horror to many a Zork player.  With the opening words (and chorus) "You are likely to be eaten by a grue" I was sucked into a style of music I'm not generally partial to.

Amazing tribute video to John Carpenter’s The Thing – made with GI Joe action figures

Yeah, at first that sounds pretty cheesy.  Once you start watching though you’ll see just how fantastic a job the folks at Zombie Zombie did with the direction, score and action figures.  This isn’t something you and your little brother made over a few hours on a boring Sunday.  This rocks. Combining zombies, action figures [...]

Knight Rider Rides Again

Wednesday, September 24th is the big day friends.  Knight Rider returns to television at 8pm EST on NBC.  On that day I'm dusting off my old leather jacket, getting out some red LCD lights for my Element and setting my GPS voice for Val Kilmer. My only hope is that they don't bring back the one element of the show from my childhood that I didn't like. . . K.A.T.T.  Blech.
