What the McG is Happening to My Electronic Murderer?

It is my belief that there are two kinds of Terminator fans. There are the kind that enjoyed the first three films, and eagerly await the next episode of the Sarah Connor Chronicles, and there are those who love the first two, thought the third one was somewhere between bad and mildly decent, and are not very interested in either the Sarah Connor Chronicles or the upcoming Terminator: Salvation. If you fall into a different category, please correct me if I'm wrong.

It’s Mark Hammill’s Birthday! Celebrate with his Star Wars audition tape, Kurt Russell and Cocknocker!

In watching these two videos, I find myself wondering what it would be like to be Mark Hammill and Kurt Russell at the time these were recorded.  That's a world where no one had ever heard of Star Wars and Lucas was this guy that made a passable film about cruising around in the 50s.

Crazy guy communes with Aliens for a televised interview. Makes interviewer feel his energy-beam induced chest sweat

I like aliens.  I've never met an alien I didn't like actually.  Until I saw this guy.  He qualifies for both an alien I don't like and the first alien I've ever met, so I guess I've totally struck out. Here's a guy who claims he is channeling aliens via an energy beam directly to his hairy, slightly repugnant sweaty chest.  The very same chest he then makes an interviewer feel to confirm the alien-beam sweat.

USAF’s Cyber Command Canned

This may not come as a surprise, but the United States Air Force's fumbling attempt to dominate the internets got axed shortly before it was declared operational. Read more about it over in Wired's blog post.

Knight Rider Rides Again

Wednesday, September 24th is the big day friends.  Knight Rider returns to television at 8pm EST on NBC.  On that day I'm dusting off my old leather jacket, getting out some red LCD lights for my Element and setting my GPS voice for Val Kilmer. My only hope is that they don't bring back the one element of the show from my childhood that I didn't like. . . K.A.T.T.  Blech.

Oh Joss I have foresaken thee. I did not know. Truly. I knew not.

Oh Joss I have foresaken thee. I did not know. Truly. I knew not.

There’s no way around it. I’m guilty. I’m guilty of doing a very bad thing. I don’t know if there’s a way I can be forgiven for the sin I have brought unto myself. I mean *how* HOW could I even consider myself to be a fan of Joss Whedon *and* be oblivious to Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog? I could use the excuse that I don’t have iTunes, but really, is that a good enough excuse? No. No it is not. For those of you who have been like me, living in a cave- I give you 'A brand new day, last song act 2'. It should be coming out on DVD, but in the meantime you can catch pieces of it on Youtube (thanks Cavtroop for showing me the error of my ways and pointing me in the right direction. One day, year, decade; I hope to be on good side of the Whedonverse again).

The Whedonverse Continues on… YES!

It's no secret that I'm fan of Joss Whedon. I even have a little Whedon-erse shrine in the corner of my living room that's dedicated to the EVIL GENIUS mind behind BTVS, Angel and Firefly. Others might know other work he's had a hand in: Titan AE, Alien Resurrection, Toy Story, and a few episodes of Roseanne.

Apollo 14 astronaut says “aliens are real”, pats Mulder on the back comfortingly

Edgar Mitchell is not only an astronaut, but someone who's interested in paranormal phenomena.  While on Apollo 14, in addition to doing cool back flips and science stuff, he conducted private ESP experiments with friends back on Earth.

Tor.com launches, with a great new short story

The new Tor website launched today - they are the publishers of one of my favorite new authors, John Scalzi. Mr. Scalzi penned the great novel, Old Man's War and several sequels, all of which are a fun read. John has a way with dialog, and weaves a wonderful story. I highly recommend his work.
