Why The Expendables could be one of the most important movies of this generation. If done well, which I think the new Rocky and Rambo were, seeing these iconic characters and figures at the end of their game is a logical and potentially powerful narrative course of action. It’s arguable whether or not the 4th [...]

Before comic books were cool they were shoved into hallway lockers along with other nerdy counterparts like Dungeons and Dragons and computers. In 2009 you would have to be some kind of social outcast if you were into Lord of the Rings, Batman and the internet, right? Well back when we were all ashamed to [...]

This is a disturbing trend I've been noticing, most recently with Call of Duty: World At War. You have to now put up money for a game you may not want, just to help the game developers debug their beta release.

Look, Adobe, can we please get with the times and start making a product that works on Linux? Please? It's getting closer to 2010 and we're still missing flying cars, meals in pills and a flash player that actually works most of the time. You see that? I'd even settle for most of the time right now. The sad truth is, Flash locks up on my current Ubuntu install, with the latest Flash release and it happens all the time.

Over the last few days I've noticed a curious phenomonon. Perhaps it's brand new, perhaps it's just made it past that filter that hangs out between my eyes and my brain. There seem to be a growing number of people who are on the old side of young, say in their mid forties, who are peering at their Blackberries from a distance of about 27 nanometers.

Gruntled. Now there's a word that you just don't see anymore – in fact, we may never have seen it. What? You don't know what Gruntled means? Let me use it in a sentence. Larry was so gruntled today, he didn't even haul off on anyone with an assault rifle. Gruntled. The opposite of disgruntled. Sometime back in our murky past we added the prefix 'dis' to the fine word gruntled and then gruntled ambled off to the word graveyard never to be seen again.

Hold the phone folks, Hollywood is soon to crush another of my fond childhood memories. It’s long been known (almost 2 months!) that Toby McGuire had purchased the rights to the movie. Just picturing Toby in a wild Rick Hunter wig with matching helmet, vaulting into a Speed Raceresque, video game like movie where all [...]

I’m always looking for decent things to write about on AG and I do admit I’ve been in a slump. Nothing has grabbed my attention lately. Nothing is of interest (at least nothing I can try out because my graphic card SUCKS) and I’m broke and I live in the bowels of hell… and I’m a naysayer. [...]

I posted this on my blog/site and I just had to place it here because it’s priceless… and it’d make for a great Sony commercial: So I’ve started to work out, feeling good about myself- I’m happening. Okay then… so I’m sprawled out on my lounge chair on my porch as evening approaches. Fresh out [...]

Do gas prices have you down? Does the idea of taking public transportation and adding two hours to your work commute due to the frequents stops have you even more down? Here are a few ideas to help get you through this crisis and hopefully assist in keeping your sanity or pushing you into the [...]

I feel so depressed right now. Jonathon’s in bed, everyone went to Time Square (because Jonathon, although stated he’s not tired, looked like he was about to crash and I really didn’t want him out after nine in NYC) which has left me time to think and I’m wishing this could go on forever. I [...]

Out of the blue it hit me; I can’t think of one superhero who has a mother or was raised by a biological mother. I had this issue with Disney as well when i noticed that for the longest time the mother was always killed off. The exception I think is only Mulan and Lion [...]

Jonathon, my son, is a huge fan of the Hulk. I dunno- he’s huge, green, incoherent and has rage issues, I have a difficult time warming up to this character (the Hulk- not my son). I’m stuck with the memory of the television version that had a whiny morose man who’s new girlfriend passed away [...]

A band that assists in curing insomnia. Okay, that might be an exaggeration, but I’m not sure being polled as the top rock band to help you fall asleep is the best PR boost. I admit their music is soothing and enjoyable but I’m impressionable, I’m now afraid to listen to their album on the [...]

For the past week I’ve tried to use mental telepathy on oblivious drivers because gestures and a blaring horn didn’t seem to work. You know the drivers I’m talking about, the ones do not understand personal car boundaries. You look in your rearview mirror and can actually count the blemishes on their face while they’re [...]
