Finally! The die app you role players (or lovers of multi-facted dice) have been waiting for has arrived, from MachWerx. It's Mach Dice and it's beautiful. The premise is simple. You choose the dice, you make the roll. You can select any type of die you want, up to 100 of them - multiple dice of different sides are available as well.

These are the three precepts to a Window game: "Everything about a Window character is described with adjectives rather than numbers." "It is the actor's responsibility to play their role realistically." "A good story is the central goal.”

Once upon a time, gaming was sacred. It was a time to spend with like minded folk sitting around drinking Mountain Dew and eating Doritos, laughing, talking, disemboweling a goblin or two, and just having fun. MMORPGs have taken a lot of that away. Now you play alone, or with strangers. Unless you’re lucky enough to chance upon your real life friends on the same server.

The Escapist is running an article titled I Want My D&D. Supposedly the author pens a treastie about the downfall of the CRPG (Computer Role Playing Game), but I find it more fitting as a critique of D&D in general - and I find it even extrapolates out well to the new 4E. It seems to me that the days of creating a well thought out and personalized character are gone for the most part. Especially with the advent of 4E, players are being shoehorned into roles they may or may not want to play.

I’m a long time role player who group up with Dungeons and Dragons as well as a bunch of other RPG systems such as the Palladium family, the Storyteller books and whatnot. For all you non-digital gaming fans out there, let me call your attention to Ain’t It Cool News and a dude who goes by the unfortunate name of Massawyrm has had a chance to game with his group in 4E with the Players Handbook, DM’s Handbook and the Monster Manual. He’s been under an NDA for [...]

Finally a game that keeps me busy, entertained and interested (and a little frustrated due to my own lack of skills). I first began this game weeks ago and unfortunately regular life gets in the way so that I may afford the electricity to power up my PS2 and purchase food so that I’m not balling [...]

Well folks, aside from my own hectic personal life, nuzzling my new Chanel hand bag, and my 7-3 job, I have been on a writing hiatus due to quite a few interesting items sent my way in the past 2 weeks. Video Games Juiced 2 (FINALLY a racing game I can get into) Soul Nomad and the World [...]

I’m a long time fan of Dungeons & Dragons, among other table top role playing games. I also enjoy a good RPG on my computer or console but it’s been too long since I’ve played a good, turn based game on either. Enter Dungeons & Dragons Tactics. This PSP game offered much of what I was [...]
