In case you missed it, last night’s episode of The Simpons saw Matt Groening’s own brand of satire brought upon the Apple community… um, I mean… Mapple community.

It is my belief that there are two kinds of Terminator fans. There are the kind that enjoyed the first three films, and eagerly await the next episode of the Sarah Connor Chronicles, and there are those who love the first two, thought the third one was somewhere between bad and mildly decent, and are not very interested in either the Sarah Connor Chronicles or the upcoming Terminator: Salvation. If you fall into a different category, please correct me if I'm wrong.

As the economy progresses on its downward spiral (hopefully to soon recover), and with the holidays quickly approaching, there are some great deals already available. Stores don't want to hold onto an excess of products, so the goal this year is get it gone. For some of them you have to be a haggling/negotiating type of person, others you can walk in and find great deals, and some you simply visit your favorite website and find the perfect price for what you want...

I'm a fairly serious fan of end of the world fiction. If it's zombies rising up against the tide of humanity, I'm there. Strange lights causing physics to stop and reverting back to blade and club? Count me in. Giant comet slamming into the world – yup! I enjoy all of these stories, which is why I was pretty excited to receive a copy of Go-Go Girls of the Apocalypse.

In the world of time-wasting, flash games may be the ruling elite. Simple games like Motherload and Portal: The Flash Version have gotten me through countless long days at work. And now that I've discovered Fantastic Contraption, I just might never work again.

It wasn't too long ago that I noticed a nerdcore rapper tackling the subject of text based adventure games. Now it seems that the popular software (popular amongst us text based adventure game enthusiasts that is) Frotz has been ported to an Apple App!

Did you know that the inventor of the erector set won an Olympic gold medal in the pole vault in 1908? Or that the Slinky was named by thumbing through a dictionary looking for a word that sounded like the motion of a toy? Or that (despite popular belief), Furbies do not listen for new words to add to their vocabularies (and therefore should never have been banned from government property)? Neither did I, until I read The Way Toys Work:The Science Behind the Magic 8 Ball, Etch A Sketch, Boomerang, and More.

I've been fooling around with Cro-Mag Rally by Pangea Software for a couple of days now, mostly during my commute and I've been very much enjoying it. It's everything Monkey Ball should have been - less monkeys, more fun.

I've spent a little time with Blaze Media Pro over the past week exploring what this media editing suite can do. It's a pretty comprehensive suite of tools for Windows users, covering everything from ripping and burning both audio and video to editing tools that allow you to splice, cut and paste.

This is almost the dice app I've been searching for! It looks amazingly pretty, the dice actually roll on screen with a flip of your phone or pod, the sounds are good, and it even rolls higher than a 5 on six sided dice! You can skin your dice in various ways to play good old 6 sided games, poker or what have you.
