Vista should recognize when you make a hardware or BIOS change (such as adding RAM, getting a new proc or overclocking your existing one). If Vista doesn't recognize a change, or if you want to rerun a test for the purpose of resetting your score or troubleshooting, you can use the winsat command. You can think of WinSAT as a built in benchmarking tool provided by Microsoft.
